Dental Technology-Beverly, MA
Fast & Efficient Care Every Time
One of the best parts about dentistry is that it’s changing all the time, and that’s particularly true when it comes to the technology our team uses every day. With the instruments detailed below, we’re able to find, diagnose, and treat a wider array of dental problems in much less time, helping patients get what they need and back to their lives as quickly as possible. To learn more about our advanced technology or even come experience it for yourself, contact us today to schedule an appointment!
CBCT Scanner
Our Dental Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CT) scanner is a piece of specialized equipment used to take dental x-rays of your teeth, soft tissues, nerves, and jawbone. Creating 3D images, our dentists are able to more closely examine your oral cavity and facial structure in order to formulate more precise and accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. This painless scanner rotates around your head to capture multiple high-quality images and is completely painless. This type of technology is beneficial when handling complex dental cases that require looking more closely at the jawbone and tooth orientation.
Intraoral Camera
Our intraoral camera will allow both you and your dentist to get an up-close-and-personal look at your smile. This camera-tipped wand fits easily into the mouth and can capture high-resolution images of the teeth and gums we can display on a monitor right in the treatment room. These can serve as an excellent visual-aid for patient education and help our dentists actually show you why you might need a specific treatment.
Digital X-Rays
We use X-rays every single day in our office because, in many cases, certain dental issues can be caught and diagnosed even before they’re visible to the naked eye! We only use digital X-rays in our office as opposed to film because they are faster, capture much more detail, and they even emit up to 80% LESS radiation. They also don’t require toxic darkroom chemicals to be processed, which is better for both our practice and the local environment.
Trios Digital Impression System
Dental impressions help us create a model of the teeth we can use to design a wide variety of treatments, from crowns to porcelain veneers to Invisalign and more. To save our patients from having to bite down onto dental putty, as is the traditional way, we can now complete the process 100% digitally.
We simply move the small Trios scanner throughout the mouth to capture close-up images of the teeth and gums, and nearby software quickly stitches them together into one highly-detailed 3D model. It’s faster, more comfortable, and even more accurate than the old way!
